The Beat, also widely known as The English Beat, are a seminal British group whose kinetic blend of 2 tone and new wave has defined the UK ska revival since their formation in 1979. With infectious rhythms and a socially astute lyrical approach, The Beat have held an esteemed place in the live music scene, continuing to draw new generations to their signature sound.
Recent performances have seen The Beat sharing the stage as a support act with legendary headliners such as The Specials at events like Rude Boy Rude Girl at Social in Hull, and supporting Madness at Canterbury Live at The St Lawrence Ground. Their enduring influence is further cemented by a series of album releases, including the forthcoming "The Beat at the BBC" compilation, set for release in November 2025. The band’s dynamic back catalogue, from "Bounce" to "Public Confidential," continues to resonate with both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
Looking ahead, The Beat are set to headline venues across the United Kingdom, with several gigs scheduled for autumn 2026, including dates at Tramshed in Cardiff, O2 Academy Leeds, and The Factory Live in Worthing. For those passionate about ska, new wave, and the electric pulse of live concerts, The Beat remain essential. Follow The Beat and keep up with their latest tour dates to catch their legendary live show at a venue near you.
