The opening INDIE By The Sea show at Winter Gardens on 1 May 2027 pulls together a dense run of UK alternative history. Ocean Colour Scene top the bill with their britpop, indie rock and mod revival sound, joined by Peter Hook & The Light’s post-punk, new wave and alternative dance. Embrace add widescreen alternative rock and indie pop, while Black Grape twist britpop with alternative dance and alternative hip hop. The Wedding Present and Cud bolster the indie rock core, The Primitives bring C86 and jangle pop, and Space fold in alternative dance, with Paul Draper, Ben Ottewell, James Walsh, Mark Morriss, Northside and Ian Prowse rounding out the line-up.
