The Glasshouse, formerly known as Sage Gateshead, is an international centre for musical education and concerts situated on the Gateshead bank of Quayside in northern England. The venue was designed by Foster and Partners and opened on 17 December 2004. It features three performance spaces: Sage One, a 1,700-seater; Sage Two, a 450-seater; and the Northern Rock Foundation Hall, a smaller rehearsal and performance hall. The Glasshouse is home to the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the UK's only full-time chamber orchestra.
