St Mary's Church is the only complete medieval church in Shrewsbury, with origins in Saxon times and later additions from the 12th century onwards. Notable for its soaring spire, one of the tallest in England, the church dominates the town's skyline and houses an acclaimed collection of stained glass, including the 14th-century 'Jesse window' depicting Old Testament figures.
