Queen Square

Queen Square, Bristol BS1, UK
Map

Queen Square is a 2.4-hectare Georgian square located in central Bristol, England. Established between 1699 and 1720 and named in honour of Queen Anne, it was once home to the city's merchant elite. The square was notably the centre of a significant riot in 1831, resulting in widespread destruction. In the 20th century, a dual carriageway was built through the square but later removed, reinstating the historic layout. Queen Square regularly hosts a variety of major events, such as outdoor theatre, cinema, music concerts, and business exhibitions.
