Preston Park is the largest urban park in Brighton, spanning 63 acres and featuring expansive lawns, formal borders, rose gardens, bowling greens, tennis courts, and a small pond. It is known for hosting major annual events such as the Brighton & Hove Pride festival and the start of the Brighton Marathon, and includes the historic Preston Park Velodrome, the oldest in the UK, which opened in 1877. The park opened to the public in 1884 and is set near Preston Village in Brighton and Hove.
