The Plowright Theatre, located on Laneham Street in Scunthorpe, was built in 1958 and was originally known as the Scunthorpe Civic Theatre. It was renamed in the 1990s to honour local actress Joan Plowright. The venue features a traditional proscenium-style auditorium and hosts professional music, drama, and comedy, as well as productions by local amateur societies.
