About

The Plaza is a Grade II* listed Art Deco single-screen cinema and theatre in Stockport, renowned as an exceptionally complete example of a 1930s 'super' cinema. Designed by William Thornley and constructed in 1932–33, it retains its original Compton organ and much of its lavish period detailing, following careful restoration. The venue now hosts both film screenings and live performances.
