Ludlow Castle is a medieval fortress located in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, overlooking the River Teme. Founded by Walter de Lacy after the Norman Conquest, it was among the earliest stone castles constructed in England. The castle later served as the headquarters of the Council of the Marches in Wales, functioning as the seat of Welsh government.
