La Belle Angèle, located at 11 Hastie's Close in Edinburgh, was originally formed in 1992 and became known as an underground institution within the city's art, music, and clubbing community. The venue was destroyed in the Cowgate fire on 8 December 2002 and lay undeveloped for 12 years. It later reopened on its original site, continuing to host live music, performance art, exhibitions, and club events.
