The Hope and Anchor is a historic pub and live music venue situated on Upper Street in Islington, London. First opened in 1880, it became a prominent site in the pub rock and punk rock movements. The venue has hosted legendary bands including U2, The Police, The Stranglers, and Madness. Its basement room accommodates up to 80 people. The Hope Theatre is also located inside the pub, at the corner of Upper Street and Islington Park Street.
