Gaskessel is one of Europe's oldest youth and cultural centres, established in 1971 during the Bernese youth riots. Housed in former gas reservoirs beside the River Aare on the Gaswerk site, the venue is structured into two spherical hemispheres and is managed as an association by a large group of committed young people.
