Dune Peninsula is an 11-acre landscaped park at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, developed on a former industrial site and now offering a major waterfront setting with wide views of Commencement Bay, Vashon Island, the industrial port, and Mount Rainier. The park, named in honour of 'Dune' author Frank Herbert, features the Frank Herbert Trail, a paved pedestrian loop, and surrounds the Tacoma Yacht Club boat basin.
