Chelmsford City Racecourse is a large thoroughbred horse racing venue near Braintree, Essex, featuring an 8.5-furlong left-handed Polytrack oval with a 2-furlong home straight. Originally opened as Great Leighs Racecourse in 2008, it was the first new racecourse built in the UK since 1927 and experienced a period of closure before reopening in 2015.
