The Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar is a large Roman Catholic cathedral, notable for its basilican layout in the Renaissance Revival style designed by William Byrne & Sons, and distinguished by twin towers surmounted by bronze crosses reaching about 55 metres. It is renowned for significant mosaics by Boris Anrep in its Saint Anne and Saint Patrick chapels and was the first cathedral dedicated to Christ the King. The building opened in 1936 and seats up to 5,000 people.
