Castello di Udine, considered a symbol of the Friuli region, formerly served as the seat of the Patriarch of Aquileia and the Venetian Lieutenant of the Patria del Friuli. Since 1906, the ground floor of the castle has housed the Museo del Risorgimento and the Museo Archeologico, while the main floor hosts the Galleria d’Arte Antica, featuring artworks from the fourteenth to the nineteenth centuries, including pieces by Carpaccio, Caravaggio, and Tiepolo.
