Bulgaden Castle, situated two miles east of Kilmallock and overlooking the Ballyhoura Hills and the Golden Vale, was originally an 18th-century tavern belonging to the Hassett Family. Rebuilt in its present structure by the Meade family in 1887, it has been owned by Conal and Mary Kelly since 1972. The Kelly family transformed it into a country inn and restaurant with cabaret and function facilities, later expanding it in 2005 to include a function room and a wedding garden.
