The Alban Arena, located in St Albans, was designed by Sir Frederick Gibberd and opened in June 1968. Initially named St Albans City Hall, it was renamed the Alban Arena in 1990 following renovations. The venue has hosted performances by acts including The Who, Dire Straits, and Jethro Tull. In 1991, it underwent refurbishment with an extension for a new box office and a larger foyer. It accommodates a range of events, such as national touring shows, concerts, comedy gigs, films, exhibitions, and an annual Christmas pantomime.
