The Undertones bring their sharp mix of new wave, pop punk, pop soul and power pop to The Fire Station in Sunderland on 22 October 2026. Formed in Derry in 1975, the band are known for melodic hooks and raw energy, with songs such as "(Just Like) Romeo and Juliet", "Beautiful Friend" and "Bittersweet" anchoring a catalogue recently revisited on the compilation "West Bank Songs 1978–1983: A Best Of". Joining them on the bill are The Men They Couldn't Hang, adding further weight to a night rooted in punk lineage and punchy, hook-driven songwriting.
