Borderline Festival Ver. 4. 2027 opens on 18 February at The Workman’s Club, Project Arts Centre, The New Theatre with August heading a dense, guitar-heavy bill. Cowboy Hunters bring grunge and punk rock, setting a raw edge against the psychedelic rock and folk-leaning textures of Vancouver’s Meltt. Mouth Ulcers drag coldwave, dark wave, deathrock and gothic rock into the mix, while Piss push towards noise and noise rock rooted in punk. Around them, Hotwax, Gans, Picture Parlour and Wyatt deepen the rock focus, with Maquina. adding psychedelia and Victor Jones introducing a jazz thread to this first night.
