Celebrating the Life & Music of Bill Ashton OBE 1936–2025

Sunday, December 6, 2026 - Union Chapel, London

• Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra
• The BBC Big Band
• National Youth Jazz Orchestra

Union Chapel stages a big band jazz tribute to Bill Ashton OBE, bringing together three major British ensembles on 6 December 2026. Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra lead the bill, joined by The Bbc Big Band and Nyjo for a large-ensemble celebration of Ashton’s life and music. With multiple big bands sharing the same stage, the performance highlights the breadth of the UK’s orchestral jazz tradition, from established broadcasters to youth players. The chapel’s resonant acoustics and seated setting make it a strong match for full-scale horn sections, expansive arrangements and massed ensemble sound.
