Suede and Manic Street Preachers hit Utilita Arena Birmingham on 7 November, following their London date at The O2. The bill unites Suede’s alternative rock and art rock sensibilities, shaded with glam rock, and Manic Street Preachers’ alternative rock, britpop and glam punk attack. Arriving in the final third of the tour, the Birmingham show finds both bands deep into their stride, with setlists refined for big choruses, layered guitars and dramatic dynamics. It acts as a bridge between the London arena peak and the closing stretch in Nottingham and Bournemouth, keeping the emphasis firmly on British rock.
