Nu Civilisation Orchestra performing the MILES DAVIS soundtrack to a screening of John Akomfrah's 'The Stuart Hall Project' film

Monday, November 9, 2026 - Union Chapel, London

At Union Chapel on 9 November 2026, Nu Civilisation Orchestra perform the Miles Davis soundtrack to a screening of John Akomfrah’s film “The Stuart Hall Project”. The setting of the North London chapel adds weight to this live score performance, with the ensemble interpreting Davis’ music in sync with Akomfrah’s portrait of cultural theorist Stuart Hall. Presented by Tomorrow’s Warriors, the show focuses on the relationship between Davis’ compositions and the film’s archival visuals and commentary, creating a dialogue between jazz history, Black British thought and contemporary orchestral performance within the venue’s resonant space.
