Heaton Park hosts a second Fontaines D.c. show on 4 July, keeping the full touring line-up of Little Simz and Viagra Boys in place. Following the previous night’s performance, Fontaines D.c. again bring their blend of gothic rock, indie rock and post-punk to the outdoor stage. Little Simz carries the bill into hip hop and pop rap, cutting through the guitars with tightly focused beats and hooks. Viagra Boys repeat their role as openers, throwing art punk, art pop and dance-punk into the mix and underlining how the tour keeps punk abrasion alongside rap and rock across consecutive nights.
