Makthaverskan roll into The Hope & Ruin on 3 December with their characteristic blend of dream pop, indie rock and post-punk. The band top a bill completed by Stay In Nothing, whose dream pop and shoegaze tilt adds extra haze and drone to the night’s guitar palette. Across the two sets, chiming melodies, dense effects and propulsive drums dominate, moving from tightly wound post-punk passages to slow-blooming shoegaze crescendos. Sitting between the Yes date and the Moth Club finale, this Brighton show captures the tour in full flow, framed by The Hope & Ruin’s close-up upstairs room.
