With almost three decades devoted to meticulously reworking Donald Fagen and Walter Becker’s catalogue, the group have honed a set that reflects the precision and groove of the original recordings, documented in performances such as their Liverpool Empire Theatre recordings. After recent headline appearances at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, this Crescent date rounds off the series by shifting from folk-centred bills earlier in the run to a sophisticated, jazz-leaning rock songbook.
