Thekla in Bristol hosts Midlake on 5 February as the band continue their folk rock and indie folk tour across the UK. Glasgow doom trio Brethren open, working through material including their EP “The Barb”, where tracks like “An Orbit Decayed” foreground slow tempos and thick guitar tones. The shipboard setting adds a distinct backdrop to this folk-meets-doom bill.
