Midlake open their 2026 run at The Fire Station Sunderland on 31 January, bringing their blend of folk rock, indie folk, indie rock and progressive rock to the venue. The Denton, Texas group arrive with material spanning their long catalogue, framed by the recent singles “The Ghouls” and “Roadrunner Blues” ahead of the album “A Bridge to Far”. Support comes from Glaswegian three-piece Brethren, a doom cover band whose EP “The Barb” digs into slow, heavy riffing. The pairing sets Midlake’s layered arrangements against Brethren’s brooding doom sound for a contrasting first night of the tour.
