The January Blues Festival opens at 229 on 2 January 2026 with The Animals leading a bill steeped in British blues and blues rock. Drawing on their long-running catalogue, including classics like “House of the Rising Sun” and their “See See Rider” EP, the band bring their blend of blues rock, British blues and British rhythm & blues to the London venue. They are joined by Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band, adding driving soul to the line-up. Together they span mod-inflected R&B and vintage soul, framing the festival’s first night around tightly focused blues and soul roots.
