Memorials shift the New Releases Out This Week run into more abrasive territory at Hyde Park Book Club on 30 April 2026. The Brighton-based duo of Verity Susman and Matthew Simms fuse free jazz improvisation with noise rock density, drawing on releases such as “Memorial Waterslides” and the “Centre Pompidou EP”. Their exploratory approach stands in sharp contrast to the alt-country and Americana focus of the earlier Brudenell shows, introducing skronking sax, guitar squall and shifting rhythms to the Leeds dates. In the intimate basement surroundings of Hyde Park Book Club, their experimental set-up should feel especially immersive.
