Outer Waves Festival 2026 opens at MAKE LIVERPOOL on 23 May 2026 with ØXn headlining a bill that leans hard into avant-folk, post-punk and experimental rock. ØXn bring material such as “Love Henry” and “CYRM” into a live context, framed by Dame Area’s industrial-tinged post-punk and Jarboe’s exploratory experimental rock set. Thor Harris adds his percussive, textural approach, while Waqwaq Kingdom push into psychedelic, dub-soaked territory. With Joy Von Spain, Mohammad Syfkhan, Sypkhan, A.p.a.t., Unstoppable Sweeties Show and Domestic Partners also appearing, the opening show sets out the festival’s mix of folk-rooted storytelling and leftfield sonics.
