Gong bring their canterbury scene roots and exploratory jazz rock to Chinnerys in Southend on 28 September 2026. Originating in the late 1960s and long associated with progressive and psychedelic rock, the band draw on a catalogue that runs from classic material through to recent albums such as “Unending Ascending” and “The Universe Also Collapses”. Expect spacey textures, extended instrumental passages and surreal twists as Gong fold psychedelic rock and jazz-inflected rhythms into a fluid, cosmic whole in the close quarters of this Southend venue.
