State of Satta
7 piece UK Reggae/Dub-fusion band
State of Satta are a dynamic 7-piece Reggae and Dub-fusion band hailing from Leeds, UK. Renowned for their energetic live music performances and vibrant stage presence, the group have quickly become a force within the UK's reggae scene since their formation in 2020. Their sound is distinguished by rambunctious bass lines, tasteful production, and beautifully crafted melodies delivered in French, Spanish, and English, drawing inspiration from UK Reggae and Cuban music traditions. The band’s eclectic lineup includes Yotam Sigwalt (guitar/vocals), Ben Burnside (drums), Luke Roy Bryan (bass), Aidan Ruffle (trombone/FX), Emyr Dance (trumpet), Billy Burls (percussion), and Robin Forkin (keys).
State of Satta have made a significant impression on the live circuit, having performed alongside some of the most influential names in reggae, including Dub Pistols, Madness, and The Wailers. In April 2025, the band took to the stage at The Continental in Preston, performing as part of The Undercover Hippy’s The Last Stand UK Tour. Serving as the main support act, State of Satta brought their rich, multicultural sound to new audiences while supporting The Undercover Hippy, further demonstrating their appeal across diverse gig lineups.
Their debut EP ‘We Still Move’ features a special collaboration with Tom Spirals of Mungo’s HiFi, and their latest single 'Simmer Down' showcases their commitment to both roots and innovation within reggae. For music enthusiasts seeking fresh live music experiences and genre-defying concerts, following State of Satta and checking their upcoming gigs is highly recommended.
