Project Overload

Project Overload have quickly become one of Coventry’s most talked-about bands, celebrated for their distinctive brand of “bright janglepop with sharp elbows.” Their musical confidence and youthful energy have garnered acclaim from BBC Music, who described the group as “amazingly talented,” and the Coventry Observer, who named them Best New Local Band. Their debut album, New Beginnings, landed in January 2024, cementing their reputation as a force in the indie pop scene and earning praise for tracks that are both engaging and emotionally resonant.

The quintet—Callum (bass), Joe (drums), Emily (vocals), Tom (guitar), and Lucas (guitar, vocals)—draw influences from Blur, Declan McKenna, Jamie T, and more, bringing together a sound that’s been compared to the Primitives and the Sundays. Their singles “Silhouettes,” “Wildfire,” and “Late Night Dancing” have found favour with critics and fans alike, with “Late Night Dancing” featured in The Unsigned Guide’s October 2025 Spotlight and “Wildfire” hailed as a “scalding, no-mercy anthem.”

Live music fans in Coventry can catch Project Overload headlining at The Tin Music & Arts in March 2026, promising a vibrant set of indie pop originals. Later that month, the band are set to support Tropical Harmony at the Butts Park Arena for a major music festival, sharing the stage with a diverse lineup of emerging acts. Follow Project Overload for their gig announcements and discover their evolving catalogue of singles, albums, and dynamic live shows.
