da Googie

Debbie Googe solo project

da Googie is the innovative solo project of Deb Googe, celebrated for her contributions as bassist with My Bloody Valentine and Thurston Moore Group. Since emerging under this moniker in 2023, da Googie has carved out a distinctive creative space, blending traditional bass-driven foundations with experimental soundscapes, abstract noises, and evocative field recordings. Rooted in the underground spirit of London, her work explores elements of shoegaze, rock, improvisation, and the avant-garde, creating immersive audio experiences for discerning live music enthusiasts.

March 2025 marked the release of da Googie's first full-length album, The Golden Thread, a collaborative effort with renowned keyboardist Cara Tivey (known for her work with Blur, Billy Bragg, and Everything But the Girl). The album has captivated listeners with its intricate sonic layering and emotionally resonant lyrics, described as “fabulously creepy, disorientating and delightful.” Tracks such as “Bad Habits,” “Dumb,” and “The Longest Walk” showcase the project's compelling range and originality.

da Googie is set to headline the Grand Social Ballroom in Dublin, Ireland, in February 2027, joined by Cara Tivey. Each concert promises to deliver the nuanced interplay and inventive energy found in her acclaimed recordings. For those passionate about unique, genre-defying live performances, following da Googie and staying tuned for new gig announcements is highly recommended.
