Wizardthrone are a multi-national melodic death metal band whose audacious blend of blackened extremity, symphonic grandeur, and science-fiction themes has carved a distinctive niche within the contemporary metal landscape. Formed in 2020, the group comprises musicians from established acts such as Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Akercocke, and Twilight Force, uniting formidable talents into a cosmic force that describes their signature sound as Extreme Wizard Metal. Their debut album, Hypercube Necrodimensions, released in July 2021, introduced listeners to labyrinthine riffs, cosmic orchestrations, and tales steeped in inter-dimensional lore, immediately setting Wizardthrone apart in the world of modern extreme metal.

After a period of interstellar hibernation, Wizardthrone resurfaced as an electrifying live act, with Michael Barber now taking the role of both vocalist and frontman. The band's dedication to delivering their complex and chaotic material in the live music arena became evident with a headline concert at The Underworld in London in November 2026. In addition to showcasing fan favourites from their debut, Wizardthrone have begun incorporating new material, hinting at an exciting evolution in their cosmic campaign.

Live music aficionados can look forward to January 2027 when Wizardthrone join the Alestorm UK & Ireland Tour as support, sharing the bill with headliners Alestorm and fellow tour-mates Battle Beast. This string of gigs will take them to respected venues such as O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, O2 Academy Oxford, Rock City in Nottingham, 3Olympia Dublin, and Ulster Hall Belfast.
