Katchafire

Katchafire, the legendary roots reggae collective hailing from Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), New Zealand, have carved out a distinctive international profile as one of the genre’s most revered acts. Celebrated for their polished, authentic sound, Katchafire blend the classic elements of roots reggae with hints of R&B, funk, and modern dancehall—creating a universal vibe that resonates deeply with audiences around the globe. Their journey, from humble beginnings as a group of reggae-obsessed youths to acclaimed global performers, is a testament to both their musical depth and their enduring commitment to spreading positivity and unity through music.

With a discography that spans over two decades, including albums such as “Revival”, “Slow-Burning”, “Legacy”, and the much-anticipated “Revival 2.0” slated for release in January 2026, Katchafire continue to push the boundaries of roots reggae. Standout recordings like “Bounce”, “Addicted”, and “Collie Herb Man” showcase their ability to blend tradition with innovation, while maintaining a sound that is unmistakably their own. The group’s all-Māori lineup brings an added layer of cultural richness, reflecting their heritage and their ongoing celebration of Aotearoa’s influence on the global reggae scene.

The band’s prowess as a live act is well established, and in late 2026, Katchafire will be supporting UB40 featuring Ali Campbell on the Big Love Tour across major arenas in the United Kingdom and Ireland, including The O2 in London and 3Arena in Dublin. For those passionate about live reggae music, these tour dates promise an unmissable celebration of the genre’s finest.
